Job summary

Bestow is transforming life insurance through a vertical technology platform. We are seeking a Senior Underwriting QA Engineer to own the test strategy for underwriting decisioning and collaborate with underwriters, actuaries, product, and engineering.

You will design realistic test scenarios that reflect underwriting complexity, validate rules engine behavior across releases, and translate underwriting requirements into actionable acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in life insurance with substantial underwriting experience.
• Fluency in underwriting evidence and process, including MIB, Rx, MVR, APS, and automated underwriting.
• Hands-on experience with underwriting rules engines (e.g., AURA, Magnum, FAST) and strong SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Own test strategy for underwriting decisioning, including rules changes, evidence ingestion, and risk classification.
• Design test scenarios that reflect real underwriting complexity: combinations of impairments, evidence sources, and edge cases.
• Validate rules engine behavior across releases and translate underwriting requirements into testable acceptance criteria.
