Job summary

CNA Insurance in New York seeks an experienced underwriter to assess risk across renewal and new business, within delegated authority. You will analyze submissions, prepare endorsements, and collaborate with brokers to drive prudent pricing and favorable outcomes.

The role emphasizes collaboration, knowledge of P&C products, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a hybrid work setting while maintaining strong customer service and timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of three years of related underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty products and procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform underwriting analysis to determine risk acceptability in accordance with guidelines.
• Process endorsements within delegated authority and refer outside authority as needed.
• Manage renewal book and outline actions for accounts outside authority.
• Collaborate with branch teams and CNA partners to resolve issues and provide guidance.
• Document files for completeness, compliance and quality (proposals, endorsements, cancellations).
• Assist in pricing and quote proposals and discuss options with producers/customers.
