New York Life Group Benefit Solutions is hiring a Full-Time Underwriting Analyst in a Hybrid role. The LAUNCH program accelerates underwriting careers with structured training, mentoring, and rapid skill-building in risk assessment and pricing.

You will contribute to financial goals by underwriting clients across Life, Accident, Disability, and Absence Benefit portfolios, while collaborating with matrix partners and leadership to drive long-term value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Business Management, or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Preferred 3.0 GPA or higher
• High comfort level with math/numbers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Passion and dedication to becoming a leader in financial services
• Strong business acumen with leadership and innovative thinking and customer-centricity
• Some travel may be required (<10%)

Responsibilities

• Assess the risk and underwrite prospective clients within Group Benefit Solutions portfolio: Life, Accident, Disability, Absence Administration, and Voluntary Benefits
• Communicate pricing, profitability, and risk profile of clients with internal matrix partners
• Contribute directly to company financial goals through risk decisions while balancing and maintaining favorable financial outcomes
• Partner with other underwriting team members to solve problems and negotiate with matrix partners
• Participate in structured LAUNCH training focusing on technical and professional development opportunities
