Overview

Manage an assigned underwriting territory (Eastern/Central Pennsylvania) to achieve profitable growth, including underwriting new business, renewals (as necessary), endorsements, and other transactions. Identify new business opportunities and manage agency relationships.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Write and retain a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing, and servicing. Maintain compliance with state filings and adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines. Operate within written authority and make referrals to Home Office Underwriting as required.
• Collaborate closely with the territory team. Keep peers and Territory Management informed of all issues and activities.
• In collaboration with Territory Management, develop and implement the territory business plan and share accountability with the team in meeting territory goals.
• Develop, manage, and maintain outside client relationships, including traveling within the territory to meet with agents, producers, and nonprofit organizations. Participate in industry events such as agency or association conventions.
• Provide professional, timely, and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff to resolve issues related to policyholders and territory producers.
• Stay current with market trends and demands.
• Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Multi-line underwriting expertise is required.
• Strong knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, Property, Liability, Umbrella, Businessowners’, Auto, and other ancillary lines of business.
• Strong analytical skills and organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
