Job summary

Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State seeks a Robotics Engineer to advance autonomy for underwater vehicles. You will develop and deploy software for UxVs, integrating sensors and payloads, and coordinating multiple vehicles in evolving mission CONOPS.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, perform SIL/HIL testing and on-water demonstrations, and contribute to DoD-sponsored research addressing national security challenges in autonomy and unmanned systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy autonomy software for unmanned underwater vehicles (UxVs).
• Integrate autonomy with sensors and payloads; enable multi-vehicle coordination.
• Test and evaluate software in SIL/HIL and on-water environments.
• Collaborate with software and systems engineers across multiple domains.
