Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) seeks Systems & Robotics Engineers to advance autonomy, underwater robotics, and prototype integration for Navy sponsors. The role requires on-site work in State College, PA with periodic travel to remote locations and collaboration across software, hardware, and field teams.

Ideal candidates have strong systems engineering experience, active security clearance, and capability to operate in multi-disciplinary teams, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science required.
• 14+ years of relevant experience.
• Active security clearance at the Secret level or higher.
• Experience in systems engineering for complex hardware/software systems.
• Ability to work across disciplines and with DoD sponsors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate autonomy architectures for unmanned platforms; design and test SSW payloads, sensors, and navigation solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enable autonomy-enabled CONOPS for undersea systems.
• Build prototype architectures in SIL/HIL environments and conduct field testing with unmanned platforms.
