Job summary

Barrick is seeking an Underground Ventilation & Infrastructure Engineer II to join the Goldstrike operations in Elko, NV. You will design and install underground infrastructure across ventilation, water, power and communications, working with Deswik and Ventsim tools.

The role reports to the Senior Engineer and supports safe, efficient operations. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering and 2–3 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering, or related field.
• 2–3 years of industry experience preferred.
• Experience with ventilation and/or paste backfill preferred but not required.
• Understanding underground mine infrastructure systems (air, water, discharge, power, communications).
• Familiarity with Deswik and Ventsim applications is advantageous.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Commitment to safety and productive work practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, review and monitor ventilation network using Deswik and Ventsim; conduct underground inspections.
• Review infrastructure for age, functionality and maintenance requirements; map underground systems.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards based on equipment specifications and life of development.
• Maintain infrastructure audits and maintenance schedules with Fixed Maintenance collaboration.
• Coordinate infrastructure requirements and determine mass balance, impacts and shortfalls from planning horizons.
• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure outcomes are delivered and objectives met.
• Ensure plans, budgets and schedules are developed and adhered to; apply management systems.
• Seek development opportunities in support of this role.
