Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines seeks an Underground Ventilation & Infrastructure Engineer II to design and install underground infrastructure across the Goldstrike operations. You will work with the Senior Engineer and planning teams to ensure a robust network for ventilation, water, power, and communications while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

The role requires a mining, civil, or mechanical engineering background, 2–3 years’ industry experience, and familiarity with Deswik and Ventsim.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering.
• 2–3 years of industry experience preferred.
• Experience with ventilation and/or paste backfill preferred.
• Knowledge of underground mine infrastructure systems (air, water, discharge).
• Understanding of mine infrastructure requirements (air, water, power, discharge, ventilation).
• Deswik and Ventsim familiarity is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Plan, review and monitor ventilation network using Deswik and Ventsim, plus underground inspections.
• Review infrastructure for age, functionality and maintenance needs via mapping and tests.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards based on equipment specs and life of development.
• Create audits and maintenance schedules with Fixed Maintenance to monitor installed infrastructure.
• Coordinate requirements for proposed infrastructure, assess mass balance and impacts.
• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure outcomes meet objectives.
• Ensure plans, budgets and schedules are developed; enforce processes and deadlines.
• Seek opportunities for professional development in support of the role.
