Job summary

Barrick Gold Corporation seeks an Underground Ventilation & Infrastructure Engineer II for the Goldstrike operation in Elko, NV. You will design and install underground infrastructure across ventilation, paste, water, power, and communications networks, reporting to the Senior Engineer – Ventilation & Infrastructure.

Required a bachelor’s in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering with 2–3 years’ experience; Deswik/Ventsim favorable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering required.
• 2–3 years of industry experience preferred.
• Ventilation and/or paste backfill experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of underground mine infrastructure systems (air, water, discharge).
• Understanding of mine infrastructure requirements (air, water, power, discharge, ventilation).
• Deswik and Ventsim experience advantageous.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and mining regulations knowledge.
• Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills.
• Good time and productivity management; safety-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Plan, review and monitor ventilation network using Deswik and Ventsim.
• Review infrastructure age, functionality and maintenance needs via underground mapping.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards based on equipment specs and lifecycle.
• Create audits and maintenance schedules with Fixed Maintenance team.
• Coordinate infrastructure requirements with mass balance and long-term planning.
• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant outcomes.
• Ensure plans, budgets and schedules are well developed and adhered to.
• Pursue development opportunities to support the role.
