Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure is an integrated engineering and construction company serving the electric, natural gas, and telecommunications industries. The Damage Prevention Specialist I identifies, locates, and marks subsurface utilities to prevent damage during construction excavation, working in various terrains and weather conditions on-site.

Responsibilities include collecting GPS data, mapping utilities, interpreting blueprints, and maintaining tools; a valid driver license and background

Qualifications

  • Experience locating underground utilities required.
  • SiteWise entry level basic locating training up to 45 days.
  • HIP technician introduction to field processes and basic standbys.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.
  • Minimum 1-year tenure in described job roles before advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes and maintains various company issued locate tools and equipment for proper use, storage, and upkeep.
  • Collect GPS pinpointed data to map locates of underground utilities, including electric power, gas, water, cable TV and sewer systems.
  • Locating and marking of natural gas pipelines.
  • Collect data of excavated utilities on a jobsite, including potholes and cross bores.
  • Utilizes maps/blueprints to interpret facilities to determine the presence of underground utilities.
  • Thoroughly map underground utilities in a designated area, updating collection maps and documenting each job site.
