TEKsystems is seeking a reliable UTILITY LOCATOR for its Technical Consulting team in Ames, IA. The role involves reading blueprints and marking underground utilities prior to excavation, ensuring safety for workers and the public.

Travel between Iowa locations is required, with a company car provided for daily Ames, IA duties. Responsibilities include using electromagnetic locating equipment, recording locates, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and One-Call rules.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints and marking underground utilities to spec.
• Attention to detail and safe work practices.
• Reliable, able to work independently and manage daily workload.

Responsibilities

• Use locating equipment to identify underground utility systems.
• Mark utility locations per standards and regulations.
• Respond to excavation requests and complete locate tickets on time.
• Interpret utility maps, GIS data, and construction plans.
• Maintain records of locates and field notes.
• Communicate with contractors and clients.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and One-Call requirements.
