Job summary

USIC Locating Services, LLC is seeking a Drop Bury Technician to perform underground utility locates and drop bury work at outdoor residential and commercial sites. You will work safely outdoors, utilize locating equipment, and document each locate to prevent infrastructure damage.

Responsibilities include trenching 6–8 inches, recording results, and coordinating with customers while maintaining equipment and logging time.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to walk long distances, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read locate tickets, maps and prints.
• Experience with operating digging equipment is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicle to outdoor job sites and perform locates and drop bury tickets.
• Accurately locate and mark underground facilities using records/maps.
• Operate digging equipment or hand tools to trench or bore cable lines (6–8 inches deep).
• Use company software to log time and locate results for billing.
• Adhere to OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.
• Take photos and complete required documentation for each locate and bury.
• Coordinate with utility reps, contractors and property owners as needed.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; ensure equipment is operational.
