Job summary

USIC Locating Services, LLC is seeking a Drop Bury Technician to perform outdoor utility locates and bury operations at residential and commercial sites. You will leverage locating equipment, maps, and records to accurately mark underground facilities and trench or bore cables where needed.

We value safety, reliability, and strong communication as you interact with customers, contractors, and team members on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Proficient with locating equipment and maps/tickets.
• Available for overtime, including weekends.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicle to outdoor job sites and perform locates and drop bury tickets as assigned.
• Reference records, maps, and prints to precisely locate and mark underground facilities.
• Utilize locating equipment following procedures to ensure accurate locates.
• Operate digging equipment or hand tools to trench or bore cable lines (6–8 inches deep).
• Use company smartphone software to log time and mark completed tickets for billing.
• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations (OSHA) and maintain documentation.
• Interact with utility reps, contractors, property owners, and teammates to maintain relations.
• Demonstrate professional and respectful behavior.
