Job summary

USIC Locating Services, LLC is seeking a Drop Bury Technician to locate underground utilities and perform drop bury work at residential and commercial sites. You will use locating equipment, trench or bore as needed, and document activities with photos for compliance.

Great candidates will communicate clearly, be safety-focused, and able to work outdoors in varying weather. Training is provided, with full-time hours and a strong union of field teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Proficient with electronic locating equipment.
• Willing to work overtime, including weekends.
• Must pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive).
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform manual labor.
• Ability to read locate tickets and maps.
• Good communication with colleagues and customers.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicle to outdoor job sites and perform locates and drop bury tickets.
• Reference records, maps, and prints to locate and mark underground facilities.
• Utilize locating equipment and follow procedures to ensure accurate locates.
• Operate digging equipment or hand tools to trench or bore 6-8 inches.
• Use smartphone and company software to log time and locate tickets for billing.
• Take photos for documentation and billing purposes.
• Adhere to safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Interact with utility representatives, contractors, and property owners.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; demonstrate professional behavior.
