Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a UGE Operator to install underground conduits, cables, transformers, and switchgear components for our utility projects in Dunn, NC. The role supports the Line team and involves operating a range of heavy equipment on active job sites.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least 1 year of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and OSHA 10 certification is preferred. CDL Class A is a plus and participation in safety programs is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate jobsite equipment safely, such as mobile cranes, bulldozers, front end loaders, backhoes, excavators.
• Perform service, safety checks, and minor repairs on machines.
• Inspect work area to ensure staking/locating before digging.
• Work with maintenance crew or assist as laborer when not operating equipment.
• Dig around live utilities, both underground and overhead.
• Train or oversee lower graded operators when needed.
• Comply with safety standards and MasTec/customer procedures.
• Load trucks safely and efficiently.
• Strive to improve operations and customer service.
• Perform other duties as required.
