Job summary

MasTec Utility Services in Hamlet, NC seeks a UGE Operator to install underground conduit, cables, transformers, and pull boxes for commercial projects. You will operate a range of equipment and support the Line team.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and safety training; OSHA 10 preferred. You must be able to work outdoors in varying weather and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Preferred: 2+ years of experience.
• OSHA 10 Certification.
• CDL Class A driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate jobsite equipment safely, such as cranes, bulldozers, backhoes, and excavators.
• Perform service checks and minor repairs on machines and check oil and fluids.
• Inspect the work area to ensure staking/locating before digging.
• Work with maintenance crew or assist as laborer when not operating equipment.
• Dig around all live utilities, both underground and overhead.
• Train or oversee lower graded operators when needed.
