Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation in Lithonia, GA is seeking an Underground Operator to run excavators, backhoes, trenchers and other heavy equipment on underground utility projects. You will read blueprints, locate lines, perform pre-trip inspections, and coordinate with ground crew to ensure safe, accurate excavation.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years of heavy equipment experience, and a valid CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and maps.
• CDL Class A or B preferred with clean driving record.
• OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers, and other heavy equipment for underground utilities.
• Read blueprints and locate utility lines to guide excavation.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; check fluids and safety devices.
• Monitor equipment performance and report issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to safety regulations and wear PPE; implement traffic control measures.
• Coordinate with ground crew to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
• Assist with manual labor as needed and keep work area clean.
