Job summary

Future, a Primoris Company, is seeking skilled heavy equipment operators for underground utility construction in Lithonia, GA. You will read blueprints, locate lines, and perform precise excavations while maintaining safety and efficiency on site.

Minimum 2 years of experience with heavy equipment, a valid CDL, and the ability to work in varied weather are required. We offer competitive weekly pay and comprehensive benefits with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment for underground utility construction.
• CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and utility maps.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations for excavation and utility installation.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers, and other heavy equipment for underground utilities installation and repair.
• Read and interpret blueprints, locate utility lines, and understand project specs for accurate excavation.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment, including fluid checks.
• Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to safety regulations and wear PPE; implement traffic control measures.
• Coordinate with ground crew and team members to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
• Assist with manual labor as needed, including digging, lifting, and moving materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
