Job summary

The Underground Operator at Primoris Services Corporation performs trenching, excavation and backfilling for underground utility projects, with a focus on safety and efficiency. You will operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers and other heavy equipment, read blueprints, inspect equipment, and coordinate with the ground crew to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of heavy equipment experience; a valid CDL

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience operating heavy equipment for underground utility construction.
• CDL Class A or B preferred with clean driving record.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and utility maps.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers and other heavy equipment for underground utilities.
• Read blueprints and locate utility lines to ensure accurate excavation.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
• Monitor equipment and report issues to supervisors.
• Follow safety regulations and wear PPE; traffic control as required.
• Coordinate with ground crew to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
• Assist with digging and moving materials as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
