Job summary

AT&T in Gulf Breeze, FL is seeking a Machine Operator to install, maintain, and repair buried service wire and related equipment, ensuring safety and high levels of service. You will operate trenching and digging equipment, locate buried facilities, and perform routine maintenance on gear while coordinating with customers and utilities.

The role requires outdoor work in all weather, a valid CDL or equivalent, and the ability to lift up to 120 pounds.

Qualifications

• Desire to work Monday through Friday with an 8‑hour shift.
• Willing to work mandatory overtime and holidays as service conditions require.
• Eager to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.
• Able to operate various types of machines and tools.
• Lift and move objects up to 120 pounds.
• Use hand-held devices to update work status and view assignments.
• Hold a light commercial driver’s license and be able to drive manual shift in some assignments.
• Attain and maintain a DOT medical card.
• Complete on-the-job and/or classroom training as required.
• Previous operating experience with similar equipment is desirable.
• May be required to go out of region/state due to workload.

Responsibilities

• Locates buried facilities near the route of service wire using appropriate equipment.
• Operate a company vehicle with trailer and machinery.
• Manual excavation utilizing a shovel.
• Provide repairs to low voltage buried utilities or sprinkler systems.
• Periodic maintenance and non‑complex repairs to equipment used in the performance of other responsibilities.
• Reads and interprets simple instructions.
• Follow established safety practices and procedures including manufacturer specifications.
