AT&T in Opelika, Alabama, is seeking a Machine Operator to install and maintain fiber and copper services across field sites. You will operate trenching equipment, locate buried facilities, and perform repairs while adhering to safety standards.

This role requires the ability to work outdoors, lift heavy objects, and use hand-held devices to update job status. A valid CDL and DOT medical card are preferred, with training provided to ensure certification and proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 120 pounds.
• Comfort with using computers/hand-held devices for status updates.
• Possess a valid CDL or be eligible for one and maintain a DOT medical card.
• Previous experience operating similar equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Locate buried facilities along the route and operate company vehicles.
• Perform manual digging as needed and provide repairs to low voltage utilities.
• Conduct routine maintenance and simple repairs on equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and manufacturer specifications.
• Read basic instructions and work with team and customers.
