Job summary

Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation seeks a Crew Chief to lead field crews in utility mapping, identify underground lines, and use locating devices and radar to protect assets. You will supervise workers, ensure data accuracy, and maintain equipment and safety protocols.

You may assist on survey projects as needed, document field results to CAD standards, and coordinate with managers to meet project timelines and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associates preferred.
• Minimum 3 years SUE field experience.
• Knowledge of municipal utility maintenance and SUE methods.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Direct field crews and ensure data quality for projects.
• Identify utilities and protect underground assets during mapping.
• Operate locating devices and ground-penetrating radar as needed.
• Maintain and repair field equipment; manage safety and TTC setup.
• Record field data per CAD standards and prepare sketches.
• Coordinate limited survey work and travel to field locations.
• Monitor safety and compliance with company standards.
