Job summary

Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation seeks a Crew Chief in Orlando, FL to direct field teams locating underground utilities and mapping utility pathways. You will identify utilities, use locating devices, and ensure data integrity while maintaining safety and equipment readiness.

The role requires driving to sites, coordinating with managers, and performing related survey support. Up to 25% travel may be required. High school diploma or GED required; SUE experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ field SUE experience preferred; other combinations may apply.

Responsibilities

• Direct and participate in field activities of personnel performing equipment operations, technical skills, and manual labor.
• Locate underground utilities (fiber optic, telecom, electric, gas, water, sewer) and protect them from damage.
• Ensure safety and quality of field data and compliance with standards.
• Designate underground utilities using locating devices and read maps/blueprints.
• Maintain and operate locating equipment and assist with TTC setup and safety measures.
