Job summary

Westwood Professional Services is seeking an Underground Transmission Engineer to support the design of underground transmission projects from conceptual design through construction. Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Electrical/Civil engineering.
• Three+ years of experience in underground transmission or related areas.
• Experience with 69kV+ systems and related design practices.
• Experience with engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Designs underground transmission systems per applicable standards.
• Performs cable ampacity, pulling, grounding, and bonding calculations.
• Develops routes, duct banks, manholes, and cable layouts.
• Prepares calculations, drawings, specs, and construction packages.
• Coordinates with clients, utilities, vendors, and other disciplines.
• Provides technical support during procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Supports project estimates, schedules, proposals, and QA/QC activities.
• Guides junior staff and manages assignments within scope, schedule, and budget.
