Job summary

Westwood Professional Services seeks an Underground Transmission Engineer to support design of underground transmission projects from concept through construction. Duties include cable-system calculations, duct-bank and manhole design, and coordination with clients, utilities, vendors, and other engineering teams.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in Electrical/Civil engineering (ABET-accredited) and at least three years of related underground experience, with familiarity in CYMCAP, Cable 3D,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Three or more years of relevant experience in underground transmission, underground distribution, cable systems, power delivery, or underground utility design.

Responsibilities

• Design underground transmission systems per industry, client, and utility standards.
• Perform cable ampacity, pulling, cable selection, grounding, and bonding calculations.
• Develop routes, duct banks, manholes, risers, trenchless crossings, and cable layouts.
