Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks an Underground Transmission Engineer to support the design of cable systems from concept through construction. You will handle calculations, duct-bank layouts, and coordination with clients and vendors to deliver safe, reliable power delivery solutions.

The role requires 3+ years in underground transmission, ABET-accredited engineering, and proficiency with CYMCAP and cable-pulling tools. Strong communication and multitasking skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Electrical, Civil, or related engineering.
• 3+ years in underground transmission/ cable systems.
• Experience with 69kV+ transmission systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with CYMCAP and cable-pulling software such as Pull Planner or Cable 3D.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Support design of underground transmission projects from concept to construction.
• Perform cable ampacity, grounding, and bonding calculations.
• Develop routes, duct banks, manholes, and cable layouts.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specs, and construction packages.
• Coordinate with clients, utilities, vendors, and teams.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Assist with project estimates, schedules, and QA/QC.
