Utility Lines Construction Services, Inc. is seeking an Underground Lineperson to join our team in Matthews, NC. We provide a safety‑driven environment with competitive benefits, paid holidays and vacations, and equipment provided for REM.

The role involves hands‑on work with high voltage systems, transformers and underground installations. Applicants should be physically capable of lifting heavy loads, have clean driving record and CDL, and be prepared for overtime and on‑call emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read prints and Google Earth images.
• Must wear approved Fire Retardant clothing.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must have a valid CDL driver’s license.
• Must be able to lift, move and maneuver 50 pounds or more regularly.

Responsibilities

• Directs and assists crew with setting poles and anchors.
• Directs and assists crew with installing transformers, lighting arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Directs and assists crew with troubleshooting trouble in primary and secondary systems.
• Directs and assists crew with replacing cutout fuses and clears faulted circuits and systems.
• Work with energized high voltage systems.
• Assist with setting pad mount transformers.
• Work in underground manholes and trenches.
