Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Instrumentation Process Control Technician to join our Portal Mines Underground Maintenance Team. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing instrumentation and PLC-based controls across multiple process systems in a demanding mining environment.

The successful candidate will read RSLogix ladder logic, troubleshoot PLC hardware/software, and collaborate within a safety-focused maintenance organization.

Qualifications

• Able to read RSLogix ladder logic.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC software and hardware.
• Able to connect to, download, and upload RSLogix 5000 and 500 programs.
• Experience with RSLogix 5000 and RSLogix 500.
• Experience creating PLC programs in RSLogix 5000 and 500.
• Experience with Modicon PLCs preferred.
• Experience with PanelView software preferred.
• Experience with PI preferred.
• Experience installing, troubleshooting and maintaining instruments preferred.
• Proven safe work record required.
• Willingness to work in a team based maintenance organization required.
• Strong dedication to safety and courageous leadership required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle/EAM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all instrumentation process control maintenance duties required on equipment (PLC, networks, equipment).
• Maintain and troubleshoot wireless networks, AB Stratix 8000, Cisco switches, batch plants, and related plants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
