Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Instrumentation Technician to join the Maintenance team at Turquoise Ridge. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and power systems in an underground mining environment.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, PLC/variable frequency drive troubleshooting, and working with maintenance teams on safety and efficiency. A strong safety record and ability to work rotating shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years of experience performing electrical and instrumentation duties.
• Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot electrical/instrumentation circuits.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions, and provide feedback.
• Must have PLC controls, troubleshooting and programming as well as experience with variable frequency drives.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job.
• Capable and willing to work with maintenance and operational teams.
• Good safety record and ability to work with various safety programs.
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Underground Instrumentation Supervisor, the Underground Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the following:
• Safety and effectively perform preventive maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of power distribution centers, switchgear, motors and controls, process controls and instrumentation
• Must be willing to work shifts, overtime, and callouts
• Perform other duties as assigned
