Job summary

First Majestic Silver Corp - Jerritt Canyon Gold seeks an Underground Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair electrical, instrumentation, communication, and control systems in underground mining operations. You will support safe, reliable mine production and ensure systems meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in electrical/instrumentation/mechatronics.
• 2–4 years of electrical and instrumentation maintenance experience.
• Experience in underground mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), SCADA, industrial networking, VFDs and motor controls.
• Ability to use multimeters and diagnostic tools.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and emergency callouts.
• MSHA Underground Miner certification; state electrical license; Instrumentation Technician certification; NFPA 70E; First Aid/CPR; Arc flash training.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair underground electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose faults in LV/MV/HV systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical mining equipment and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot MCCs, VFDs, transformers, switchgear, substations, and distribution systems.
• Install and terminate electrical cables, conduits, junction boxes, and control panels.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Support PLC and SCADA systems used for mine automation and process control.
• Troubleshoot communication systems such as fiber optics, radios, telemetry, and networked control systems.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, maintenance planners, and contractors.
• Train or mentor apprentices and junior technicians when required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
