Job summary

Equinox Gold's Mesquite Mine in California seeks a Process Controls & PLC Technician to troubleshoot, program, maintain, modify, and optimize PLC-based control systems supporting process operations.

The role requires strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Studio 5000, I/O configuration, and HMI changes; you will work closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering to improve reliability and process performance. Californian mining environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in industrial electrical, instrumentation, automation, or controls.
• Advanced experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems and Studio 5000.
• Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs and ladder logic with tags, alarms, interlocks, timers, and control sequences.
• Experience integrating new equipment into PLC-controlled systems and configuring I/O.
• Read electrical prints, schematics, and manuals; interpret control diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, program, and modify AB PLC systems using Studio 5000.
• Diagnose PLC, I/O, instrumentation, and process-control problems and take corrective actions.
• Integrate new equipment and field devices into existing PLC-controlled systems.
• Update HMI pages and process displays; configure tags and trending points.
• Provide technical guidance to electrical personnel and perform maintenance duties as needed.
• Read electrical prints and follow safety codes, LOTO procedures, and SOPs.
