Job summary

LE04 Warrior Met Coal BC, LLC is seeking an Electrician to work at its Blue Creek Mine in Berry, Alabama. The role focuses on safe identification, troubleshooting, and completion of underground electrical maintenance.

You will install, repair, and maintain wiring and fixtures, perform high and low voltage work, participate in safety meetings, and ensure adherence to MSHA standards. Must have MSHA Electrical Certification and 2+ years underground experience.

Qualifications

• Must have MSHA Electrical Certification.
• Minimum of two (2) years underground electrical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in system commissioning in an industrial environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Preferred: high voltage experience, shaft and hoist experience.
• Ability to read complex prints and understand electrical codes.
• Ability to work safely in an underground mining environment.
• Excellent communication skills with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs on underground equipment and stationary fixed equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in the underground mine.
• Perform electrical maintenance duties on underground equipment to ensure permissible condition.
• Conduct maintenance testing of low to high voltage (13.8kV) electrical equipment in the underground, including transformers, switchgear, protective relays, circuit breakers, cables, and motors.
• Fabricate and install various low voltage electrical equipment throughout the underground mine.
• Repair and maintain instrumentation throughout the mine.
• Operate mine equipment to diagnose problems, position it for repairs, and test operation after repairs.
• Maintain personal hand tools for functionality and cleanliness.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas to provide a safe and healthy workplace.
• Complete daily tasks and provide reports of updated electrical drawings (red lines).
• Implement protective relay settings into existing protective relays based on provided settings.
• Participate in commissioning activities of new equipment installed in the underground mine.
• Establish work relationships to efficiently execute daily electrical activities.
• Actively participate in daily safety meetings.
• Perform and document work area inspections and equipment inspection/operation cards.
• Other duties as assigned.
