Job summary

Warrior Met Coal, Inc. in Berry, AL seeks an Electrical Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems in its underground coal operations.

You will work with PLCs, HMIs, and motor control circuits, perform preventive maintenance, and keep accurate maintenance records. The role requires 1–3 years of industrial experience, knowledge of electrical schematics, and MSHA safety familiarity.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in an Electrical Controls Technician role in an industrial setting, preferably mining.
• Proficient in electrical troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical and control systems including PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with MSHA safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams and blueprints.
• Degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and motor control circuits.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and longevity of equipment.
• Collaborate with maintenance team to coordinate repairs and minimize downtime.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Keep records of maintenance activities, work orders, manuals and inventory.
• Assist in design and implementation of electrical upgrades and system improvements.
