Job summary

Redpath is seeking an experienced electrician to join our underground mining operations. The role involves disassembling, assembling, installing, testing and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems to meet Redpath and regulatory standards.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years in underground mining, NFPA70E certification (site-dependent), and the ability to read drawings. Willingness to work overtime and pass background checks is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years electrician experience in underground mining.
• Must pass background clearance, drug screening and physical.
• NFPA70E certification required (site dependent).
• Capable of reading electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Capable of troubleshooting, diagnostics testing and interpretation, maintenance and repair of ventilation fans, underground dewater pumps, lighting, electric/hydraulic mobile equipment, PLC and communication equipment, electronics, high voltage and low voltage power and control systems and ground fault monitor systems.
• Assist and carry out repairs and maintenance to all underground sub-stations.
• Hang 4/0 cable overhead.
• Fabricate electrical panels and install electrical cables.
• Install electrical apparatus.
• Comply with written/verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner.
• Ensure planned maintenance is carried out per schedule.
• Verify spares & tools are available and serviceable.
• Work overtime including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
• Adhere to Redpath Core Competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
