Job summary

Redpath is seeking an experienced electrician to join our underground mining operations. The role involves disassembly, assembly, installation, testing, troubleshooting and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and control devices to meet rigorous standards.

You will work day and night with overtime, weekend rotations, and must read drawings, follow safety practices, and support maintenance schedules to ensure reliable underground systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' electrician experience in underground mining.
• Must read electrical drawings and schematics.
• NFPA70E certification required (Based on site location).
• Proficient in the use of computers and associated software.

Responsibilities

• Capable of troubleshooting, diagnostics testing and interpretation, maintenance and repair of ventilation fans, underground dewater pumps, lighting, electric/hydraulic mobile equipment, PLC and communication equipment, electronics, high voltage and low voltage power and control systems and ground fault monitor systems.
• Assist and carry out repairs and maintenance to all underground sub-stations.
• Must be capable of hanging 4/0 cable overhead.
• Fabricate electrical panels and other necessary installation of electrical cables.
• Install electrical apparatus.
• Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform duties safely and efficiently.
• Ensure planned maintenance is carried out as per the maintenance schedule.
• Ensure that all spares & tools are available and serviceable.
• Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.
• Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
