Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking a Class C Lineman Underground to safely construct and repair underground distribution systems. You may work on energized and de-energized lines and travel to different job sites, including out-of-state locations, reporting to the Foreman.

You will perform outdoor tasks in varying weather, participate in outages and emergencies, and learn switching procedures while following strict PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of underground line experience.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, emergencies and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems while prioritizing safety.
• Assist in installing and repairing underground facilities and conductors, including fault locating on primary and secondary systems.
• Learn switching and tagging procedures, grounding and induced voltage handling.
• Work in confined spaces near energized equipment under supervision.
• Operate and maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling equipment).
• Adapt to outdoor conditions and outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
