Job summary

Pike Corporation seeks a Class B Lineman Underground to support construction, maintenance and repair of underground electrical distribution systems. This semi-skilled role may travel to other states depending on customer demands.

Key duties include safe construction and maintenance, pole setting, installing transformers and switchgear, troubleshooting primary and secondary circuits, wiring and testing, and performing rigorous physical labor outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent field experience.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.
• Must follow Company safety rules and policies.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground systems.
• Strings overhead wire.
• Sets poles and anchors.
• Installs transformers, switches and switchgear.
• Troubleshoots in primary and secondary systems.
• Replaces fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits and systems.
• Capable of climbing different types of structures and using PPE properly.
• Capable of working outdoors and handling high voltage distribution work.
