Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Groundman to support our underground distribution work. You will assist the team with construction, maintenance, and repair, reporting to the Foreman, and will be exposed to outdoor and varying weather conditions.

Safety is paramount: you will wear PPE, inspect equipment, and perform rigorous physical labor while supporting outages, storms, and emergencies. A CDL may be required within 60 days of hire, and travel to out-of-state sites is possible

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required; ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift/carry/pull up to 50 pounds; work extended hours including weekends, holidays, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with new construction, maintenance and repair of underground distribution systems.
• Install and repair underground facilities, conductors, and related hardware.
• Operate and maintain excavation equipment; work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Be available for outages, storms, emergencies and on-call rotations.
• Adhere to safety protocols, PPE use and insulation practices; inspect PPE and rubber goods.
• Perform physically demanding labor as part of daily duties.
