Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Groundman to support construction and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems. You will assist the crew, perform physical labor outdoors, and report to the Foreman. The role emphasizes safety, PPE use, and readiness for outages or storms.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days, and willingness to travel. Expect extended hours, out-of-state work, and on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and able to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Work extended periods at various job locations, including out-of-state.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems while putting safety first.
• Help install and repair underground facilities, underground conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment including backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective covers.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment.
• Will perform rigorous physical labor.
