Job summary

GTS is seeking a Drop Bury Technician (1099) in Cullman, AL. The role covers installation and maintenance of buried fiber optic or coaxial cables across residential, business, and commercial sites.

Key duties include using own equipment, locating utilities, trenching, bore logs, and restoring grounds to pre-work conditions. Must have 1–2 years field experience and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in drop bury field experience
• Ability to pass required drug and background screening
• Insured and Bonded (requirements provided)
• Owned vehicle and required equipment

Responsibilities

• Providing own equipment for production of job requirements
• Operate utility locater and place paint lines or flags for utility lines to ensure safe trenching
• Read the job layout including valves and meters that may or may not have been located
• Operate trenching equipment, duct work laying, cable pulling, and complete driveway and sidewalk boring
• Maintain bore logs
• Read blueprints and organize materials and other resources as necessary to complete excavation requirements
• Restore customer lawns, sidewalks, landscaping back to original conditions
