Job summary

GTS is seeking a Drop Bury Technician (1099) in Trinity, AL to install and maintain buried fiber/coax cable networks at residential and commercial sites. You must supply your own equipment and pass screenings.

Responsibilities include locating utilities, trenching, cable laying, bore logs, and restoring site conditions. Strong reading of maps and blueprints is required, along with safety compliance and outside work in all weather.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in drop bury field experience.
• Ability to pass required drug and background screening.
• Insured and Bonded; owned vehicle and required equipment.

Responsibilities

• Providing own equipment for production of job requirements
• Operating utility locater and placing paint lines or flags of utility lines to ensure safe trenching activities
• Read the job layout including valves and meters that may or may not have been located
• Operating trenching equipment, duct work laying, cable pulling, and completing driveway and sidewalk boring
• Maintain bore logs
• Read blueprints organization of materials and other resources as necessary to complete excavation requirements, which may include the use of basic hand tools
• Restore customer lawns, sidewalks, landscaping back to original conditions to maintain effective working relationships with those affected
