Job summary

GTS seeks a Drop Bury Technician to install and maintain low-voltage broadband fiber optic or coaxial cables buried underground at residential, commercial, and business sites. You will bring your own equipment and perform trenching, duct work, and cable pulling to meet project requirements.

Candidates should have 1–2 years in drop bury field experience, pass background checks, be insured and bonded, and own the required vehicle and tools.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in drop bury field experience.
• Ability to pass required drug and background screening.
• Insured and Bonded (requirements provided).
• Owned vehicle and required equipment.
• Experience in Utility Locating.
• Knowledge of highway traffic control standards.
• Reading and interpreting Fiber maps and/or CATV design prints.

Responsibilities

• Provide own equipment for production of job requirements.
• Operate utility locator and place paint lines or flags of utility lines for safe trenching.
• Read the job layout including valves and meters.
• Operate trenching equipment, duct work laying, cable pulling, and boring.
• Maintain bore logs.
• Read blueprints and organize materials and resources to complete excavation.
• Restore customer lawns, sidewalks, landscaping after work.
