Job summary

Pike Electric is seeking a safety‑focused Cable Splicer to construct and repair underground electrical systems, including energized and de‑energized lines. Travel to various job sites, including out‑of‑state locations, may be required.

The role reports to the Foreman and offers a competitive hourly compensation range. Responsibilities include leading crews, training apprentices, installing underground power, and performing live‑line work with proper PPE.

Qualifications

• Three years of underground experience.
• Valid CDL.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Available for out‑of‑state assignments and overtime.
• Work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground energized and de-energized systems.
• Lead crew in the absence of the Employee in Charge and conduct pre-job safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and groundmen.
• Install and repair underground power conductors and hardware.
• Work in confined spaces near energized equipment.
• Operate backhoe, bucket trucks, digger trucks and mini excavator.
• Work outdoors in varying conditions and respond to outages, storms, emergencies.
• Perform live-line work using gloving and hot-stick techniques.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE guidelines.
