Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is seeking a skilled Cable Splicer to construct and repair underground electrical systems, on energized or de-energized lines. The role involves traveling to various job sites, including out-of-state locations, and reporting to the Foreman.

Responsibilities include leading crews, mentoring apprentices, installing conductors and hardware, and performing live-line work with proper PPE. The work is safety‑driven and outdoor in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of underground experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair energized and de-energized underground systems with safety first.
• Lead crew members in the absence of the Foreman and conduct safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and groundmen.
• Install and repair underground power, conductors and related hardware.
• Apply tagging procedures and insulation/testing for energized and de-energized lines.
• Work in confined spaces near energized equipment.
• Operate backhoe, bucket trucks, digger trucks, and mini excavator.
• Work outdoors in varied weather and environmental conditions.
• Be available for outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
• Perform live-line work using gloving and hot-stick techniques.
