Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is seeking a skilled Cable Splicer to safely construct and repair energized and de-energized underground electrical systems, with travel to various job sites as required.

The role requires leadership on the crew, training apprentices, and performing live-line work with gloving and hot-stick techniques, while upholding rigorous safety protocols. You will report to the Foreman and prepare for outages, storms, and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of recent underground experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at job locations, including out‑of‑state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground systems safely.
• Lead crew in absence of the Employee in Charge and conduct safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and groundmen.
• Install and repair underground power, conductors and related hardware.
• Work with tagging procedures and test equipment on energized and de-energized lines.
• Operate backhoe, bucket trucks, digger trucks, and mini excavator.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and be available for outages and emergencies.
• Perform live-line work using gloving and hot-stick techniques.
• Follow PPE protocols and insulation practices.
