Job summary

Brigham Young University, a flagship institution of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, seeks an Undergraduate Program Coordinator (part-time). You will manage the Psychology Peer Mentoring office, plan events, assist with scheduling, and connect students with advising and career services.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 year of related work experience (scheduling, advisement, project/event management).
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Psychology Peer Mentoring office, including management and mentoring of student employees and handling requests from majors and minors (add codes, capstone and exit exams, course substitutions, etc.).
  • Advocate for undergraduate career development opportunities and liaise with the college advisement center, internships coordinator, and career advisor.
  • Mentor undergraduate student organizations, Psych Association and Psi Chi, and assist with carrying out student-led events, workshops, forums, and socials.
  • Work with department staff and faculty to conceptualize, plan, and execute undergraduate student events, including New Student Orientation, Major Fair, and the Psychology Showcase.
  • Oversee class scheduling, including monitoring enrollment patterns, making adjustments to ensure student throughput, and maintaining 3- and 4-year curriculum plans.
  • Work with department colleagues to assign courses, ensuring both faculty and student needs are met.
  • Gather and analyze data to make recommendations on which types of instruction modes to utilize.
  • Track student outcomes, including administering senior surveys, gathering experiential learning data, and encouraging students to report on experiences.

As our Undergraduate Program Coordinator, you will plan and execute the undergraduate program for one of the largest majors at BYU. This position will allow you to interact with students daily, giving you the opportunity to mentor them and assist them in their post-college plans.
