Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Sensor Modeling and Simulation Undergrad Intern for the SMSD in the MPD. This full-time, onsite role is based in Chantilly, VA, offering hands-on experience in remote sensing, optics, and data processing within a collaborative team environment.

The intern will contribute to modeling, simulation, and data processing efforts, while gaining exposure to leading-edge tools and methodologies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a related field and available for at least 10 weeks.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Strong scientific programming skills in Python, C++, Matlab or IDL.

Responsibilities

• Apply SMSD and COTS tools for image chain modeling, scene simulation, spectroscopy, computer vision, change detection and tracking, space domain awareness, lidar and 3D remote sensing, RF remote sensing, and data simulation.
• Apply best practices for modeling & simulation software development to augment existing capabilities.
• Advise internal Aerospace customers on operational and R&D remote sensing system performance.
• Perform, document, and present results of studies to inform and influence decisions.
