Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Electro-Optical Engineering Grad Intern in El Segundo, CA, onsite in the MPD. You will support the design, modeling, and analysis of remote sensing systems and assist in evaluating infrared sensor performance for space and airborne platforms.

You will analyze data with MATLAB/Python, participate in lab activities, and collaborate with structural, thermal, and systems engineers in a concurrent environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a master's or PhD in optics, physics, electrical engineering or related field.
• Transcript requirements will apply for internship eligibility.
• Strong academic performance and relevant coursework in optical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support design, modeling, and analysis of passive EO airborne/space systems.
• Evaluate infrared sensor performance theoretically and experimentally.
• Perform data analysis and scripting in MATLAB or Python.
• Assist in assembly, alignment, and testing of EO sensors.
• Support radiometric analysis and optical performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams in concurrent engineering.
• Prepare technical documents and presentations for government customers.
• Training and mentorship will be provided.
