Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Police Officer to provide internal and external safety for facilities, responding to incidents and supporting investigations. The role covers patrols, escort duties, and enforcing hospital policies to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with a preferred associate’s degree, valid driver’s license, BLS certification, and Ohio Peace Officer training within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients, visitors and staff and patrol facilities.
• Deter crime through routine patrols of hospital property.
• Enforce policies including parking, visitation, drug enforcement, and tobacco-free/smoking policy.
• Monitor activity via CCTV and respond to escalating situations.
• Intervene in confrontations as needed.
• Document duties in logs and incident reports.
• Understand emergency procedures and disaster plans.
