Job summary

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine seeks a Curriculum Manager in Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) to ensure LCME accreditation standards are met across the four-year program. You will oversee curriculum mapping, data entry in One45, and alignment with CCAC guidelines.

You will develop procedures, support curricular Deans, coordinate calendars, supervise staff, and report to CCAC and LCME, while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and timely communication with all UME

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Professions Education, Educational Technology/ Instructional Design, or related field; one year of required experience or Master’s degree.
  • Three years of professional experience performing closely related duties or curriculum-related work.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and guidance regarding administration of the Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) program in alignment with LCME accreditation standards.
  • Supports OEA Curricular Deans in development, review, and alignment of curriculum with CCAC and LCME standards.
  • Develops, implements and oversees the curriculum mapping process for all UME content, activities, sessions and assessment for all four years of the curriculum.
  • Directs curriculum mapping and data entry in the LMS (One45) for LCME accreditation and internal reviews.
  • Establishes operating procedures, policies, and guidelines to improve curricular operational efficiency.
  • Monitors and tracks each phase of the UME curriculum (Pre-Clerkship & Clerkship) for LCME standards and CCAC policies.
  • Manages curriculum mapping and tracking reports for internal program reviews and CCAC annual reviews.
  • Participates in planning, development, and implementation of UME program quality improvement activities.
  • Reviews and updates/creates, interprets and enforces UME program standards, schedules, and policies daily.
  • Plans and prepares UME academic and testing calendars to CCAC, Registrar, Student Affairs and all other stakeholders.
  • Supervises and addresses scheduling conflicts for students and faculty for MS years 1-4.
  • Oversees yearly clinical site visits to monitor student activities and learning environment for accreditation.
  • Oversees hiring, training, and evaluation of assigned staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
